Baptism

Baptism: Baptism is the conferring of Grace upon a recipient, and the wiping out of Original Sin. In the Anglican Church today, it is generally considered a way of making the recipient a 'member' of the church. Anglicans often call Baptism 'Christening'. To the left, the mother holds the infant. The priest reads the missal, which is held by an acolyte, as he blesses the water. The other child in the foreground has his hand missing, and may have held the chrism blanket. Why is there no chrismatory in this frame? It appears in the baptism scene elsewhere, but during the blessing of the water it would have been put to one side.
