Crucifixion

The Crucifixion: This is the odd panel out on the Great Glemham font (there being eight sides, but only seven sacraments). The most common eighth panel in Suffolk is the Baptism of Christ, but the Crucifixion occurs on several other Suffolk fonts, and not just seven sacrament ones. Mary the Mother of God stands to the right, and St John to the left, in a rood group. This is the most mutilated of all the panels.
