The small print: (C) Copyright 1999-2006 The Norfolk Churches Site and The Suffolk Churches Site except where specified.
The serious, legal bit: This site is part of the www.simonknott.co.uk project. I hereby assert my right in international law to ownership of all images unless otherwise credited, and that all text except where quoted from other sources is my intellectual property. You may not simply cut and paste text or images from this site into your site without credit. This is theft. If you do it, I will find it, and I will take action.
The good news: However, you are very welcome to reuse and credit any image or text from this site without prior permission, as long as it is entirely for non-commercial purposes. You must credit it - no credit, no reuse. In your credit, please include the name Simon Knott and the appropriate URL www.norfolkchurches.co.uk or www.suffolkchurches.co.uk. The only exceptions to this are images copyright of people other than me. Most of these are by George Plunkett, John Salmon and Peter Stephens. You'll find their copyright in the caption of the thumbnail - they form a small proportion of images on the site, but please do check. If you want to use their images, you'll need to clear it with them by contacting me for permission first.
The even better news: Churches and parishes are most welcome to use material from this site for fund-raising activities. Just follow the permission and credit rules in the section above. However, please consider carefully how you are going to use the material. Text must not be altered or abbreviated if this changes the meaning or emphasis, however subtly. If you embed my text within yours, you must make it clear which bit you got from me and which bit is yours. Because of this, I would prefer to see the text in the form in which you intend to use it. Please let me know the URL of your site reusing material. If material is to be reused in printed form, these rules still apply, but please contact me for an address to which to send a copy of the final printed material if this is possible, or at least tell me if it isn't - thanks! Commercial use is not permissable, except where prior arrangements already exist, for example with the BBC. If you want to discuss the possibility of a commercial use, please contact me.
The final serious bit: The Norfolk Churches Site and the Suffolk Churches site are fully committed to opposing all forms of religious discrimination and sectarianism, so do not reuse material if you do not feel that you, your church or your parish are similarly committed. Material may not be reused in any publication that would generally be considered discriminatory of people on the grounds of their race, gender, sexuality, intelligence or religious beliefs. If this happens, I will refuse permission and ensure that all materials of mine are removed - legally, I can do this, and have a friendly solicitor ready to sort it out at no cost to me. Thank you!
